Container Freight Station

Container Freight Station Definition:

A container freight station (CFS) is a warehouse or distribution facility focusing on consolidating and deconsolidating containers and other cargo import and export shipments.

The cargo stored in a CFS belongs to different clients, but freight forwarders are usually the biggest utilizers of CFS. Third-party logistics providers also use these stations for their clients' freight. You can always find CFS near all major inland distribution points or cities and ports. This is because many transporters like keeping their cargo and containers within reach or at a central point with ease of access. Generally, CFS makes the consolidation and de-consolidation processes efficient.
