General Purpose Definition:

This is a standard container, equipment, facility, or terminal that can be used for various activities or functions.

General purpose indicates or describes facilities, tools, or systems that operate or serve a broad spectrum of activities in shipping and logistics. The general-purpose container is versatile and widely used primarily in intermodal shipping. It's mainly a 20 and 40-foot container in the shipping and logistics industry that can carry almost all cargo types. They are usually the general choice for various transportation. Other general-purpose concepts include equipment, vehicles, warehouses, and ports that don't have a specialized function but are adaptable, versatile, and adjustable to handle various operations.
